Jonathan Kettle  was the first runner home overall in a fast time of 17 minutes and 50 seconds to win his VM45 age cat, and he led back a talented team that collected five first-placed age category victories, in addition to one second and one third placing. Will Williams  finished 5th overall and he also won his VW50 cat in 19.08, with  Stuart Culverhouse  12th, and 3rd in his VM50 cat in 20.45.  Jamie Tharme  was on form again and he finished 19th in 22.08, and 2nd in his VM45 cat. *Will Williams (*

Photos by Steve Jeffery. https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk   It was a very cold and crisp at Conwy parkrun last Saturday morning where fourteen Road Runners took part in this popular event, despite an afternoon cross-country fixture at Shrewsbury, and some other competing fixtures. The NWRRC team packed well and collected four senior age category wins, one junior victory, plus four second places, and they also recorded a major PB time over this challenging 5k course, which again attracted some quality club and visiting social runners. Josh Keogh  returned to parkrun with a superb performance in 4th place, and he was 2nd in his SM30 age cat in just 18 minutes and 3-seconds. He was followed by  Jamie Tharme , who shook-off a recent nagging injury to finish in 22nd place overall in 22.07, with  Ri

Report by Don Hale.  https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk   It was another memorable morning at the Conwy half-marathon last Sunday as 2,513 runners battled against storm-force blustery winds and steady rain as they tackled a challenging and undulating course around Llandudno’s Great Orme and back. The event, well organised by  RunWales , was won in spectacular style however, by local

Photos by Steve Jeffery. https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com   Ten North Wales Road Runners were amongst a bumper turn-out of over three-hundred entrants at the Conwy parkrun last Saturday with the usual numbers boosted due to a local half-marathon event the following day.  This popular annual race, well organised by  RunWales , always attracts a massive following and ensures this particular parkrun date records one of the busiest days of the year, as many athletes utilise this event as an ideal warm-up.  After the parkrun however, it was hoped that most of the participants had a change of footwear available, as once again, this saturated riverside 5k course dominated proceedings, and made the narrow, twisty, riverside route quite a challenge, especially with so many visiting runners. NWRRC members were restricted again due to additi

Report by Don Hale. Photos by Steve Jeffery. https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk   A dozen North Wales Road Runners took part in another puddled-filled parkrun event at Conwy last Saturday, where, despite the awful conditions underfoot, they still managed to win five respective age categories, plus one second placing, and one third. During an unusually bright and sunny morning,  Steve Mason  led the NWRRC team home with a determined performance over this near waterlogged 5k course in 4th place overall in 19 minutes and 32 seconds, and he won his VM45 age cat.  Will Evans  then celebrated a new course PB, but finished just six-seconds, and one place behind Steve, but won his VM40 cat in 19.38, with  Harry Driscoll  9th in 20.07, and he too won his SM20 age cat.   *Pictured above
